Description
Research is meant to minimize the cost and increase efficiency’, was the remarks of the chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Sukumar Mishra, IIT, Delhi during the International conference on Computer Science & IT Applications at New Delhi on 6th November, 2011. Highlighting the importance of research, awardees’ of prestigious INSA and DST young scientist award, Prof. Sukumar said that cost is the vital which is primarily kept in mind by people before deciding anything, efficiency definitely would be next to it, foundation of research is based on these aspects he opined.
While inaugurating the conference he appreciated the work of IRNet and promised to extend his full support in future. During the conference the Chief Mentor, IRNet, Prof. (Dr) Srikanta Patnaik discussed about the activities of IRNet in the area of research. While addressing the gathering he encouraged the participants to bring about the real quality work. He said that IRNet, -provides a platform to young researchers along with academicians to showcase their talent in the research and development field.
More than 30 participants from across the globe witnessed the CSIT- 2011 conference and added value in the area of research, including Prof. Sueng-Joon Oh from Gyeonggi College of Science and Technology, Korea, Luma Salal Hasan of Al- Qadisyiah University, IRAQ, Prof. Kunal Gupta, from Amity University, India, S. Selvi from R & D Centre for Iron & Steel, SAIL, Ranchi, Prof. K. R. Yadav, from Jaipur, Prof. Debrata Samanta from AIEM, West Bengal, India and others.
To promote quality research in terms of content and presentation Scholastic Awards were given to the paper presenters during the conference in different tracks.
Among the winners, in Track I, paper “ Management of Organisational Information through Web Portal,” presented by S, Selvi of R & D Centre for Iron & Steel, SAIL, Ranchi received scholastic award for Best Presentation, while Prof. Ravindra Nath of Institute of Engineering and Technology, Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur received the award for Best Technical Content for his paper “CpG sequence Identification using hidden Markov Models and Randomised search Algorithms” in the same track.
Prof. Sueng-Joon Oh from Gyeonggi College of Science and Technology, Korea for the paper “Clustering of symbolic objects based on non symmetric proximity,” received Best Technical Content award in Track II and Prof. Debrata Samanta from AIEM, West Bengal, received Best Presentation award for his paper “Segmentation Technique of SAR Imagery using Moments”
A special award was given to Chandni Varshney by IRNet for being the youngest paper presenter in the conference.
The conference was conducted by Prof. Mritunjay Sharma and Jayabrata Banerjee from IRNet, India. Dr. Raju Sarkar of Delhi Technological University , Prof. Subhranshu Mohanty of Army Institute of Management and others were also present during the conference.
