Sarandis Mitropoulos is Associate Professor of MIS in the department of Regional Development of the school of Financial Sciences of the Ionian University. He has also been a research fellow in the department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus since 2004, contributing to lecturing, R&D projects and pregraduate and postgraduate projects. From 2002 to February 2018, he had been a Special Scientist in Informatics in a bank supervised by the Ministry of Finance of Greece. He holds a Ph.D. as an Electrical and Computer Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Integrated Distributed Management of Information Systems, Platforms and Networks. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration for Executives from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) with specialization in synchronizing Business and Digital (ICT) Strategies. He has also extensive professional experience, cooperating with important companies, as technical and project manager, as well as business development manager in projects of integrated solutions in the areas of information systems, system management, advanced telecommunications and telematic services and ICT security. He taught and cooperated as a researcher at the National Technical University of Athens, and he also taught at the Greek Productivity Centre for three years. In 2005, he was elected as IEEE Senior Member.
