Description
Prof. Tapio Varis is Professor of Vocational Education, with particular reference to global learning environments at the University of Tampere, Finland. He is also associated with Research Centre for Vocational Education and UNESCO Chair in global e-Learning with applications to multiple domains. Prof. Varis is Principal research associate of UNESCO-UNEVOC and Acting President of Global University System (GUS). He is former Rector of the University for Peace in Costa Rica and Expert on media and digital literacy to the European. He is also Communication and Media Scholar at the University of Helsinki and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and the University of Lapland, Finland. He has published approximately 200 scientific contributions.
He is also Board Member of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE)
